It is part of the San Antonio Metropolitan Statistical Area. Fair Oaks Ranch is located on both sides of Cibolo Creek. Its location is 27 miles northwest of Downtown San Antonio and 8 miles southeast of Boerne. The city limits extend southwest to touch Interstate 10 at Exit 546.
